Dr Munyati shall collaborate with researchers and local communities between Leicester and South Africa to explore ways in which knowledge exchange and expertise can inform and improve issues surrounding food security. Engaging with interdisciplinary research methods and disciplines, Dr Munyati shall look at areas of Remote Sensing, Biological Sciences, Social Sciences and Human Geography, to monitor long-term changes in savannah rangeland, and assess socioeconomic implications of rangeland quality. Further research projects combining satellite data and local knowledge to monitor pasture status and food security shall also be explored during his Fellowship. Dr Munyati is hosted by Professor Heiko Balzter.
