Dr José Miguel Rojas

Lecturer and Year in Industry and Year Abroad Coordinator

Profile

Dr Rojas’ research focuses on automated software engineering, with emphasis on search-based unit test generation and its application in practice to improve software quality and developers’ productivity.

This can be applied across a wide variety of industries and applications, from autonomous vehicles to helping large corporations streamline existing software processes.

In the past he has also worked on bio-inspired computational devices, constraint logic programming, software static analysis and symbolic execution for software testing.

He is one of the creators of ‘Code Defenders’, a gamification platform designed to get secondary school and university students excited about coding and testing software, and to demonstrate the complexity and challenges of modern software systems.
