Advanced Research Methods

Module code: SY7036
Module co-ordinator: TBC

This module is designed to offer a range of advanced research methods in a modular format.

We will start with a two-hour general introduction seminar. Then each research method will be taught using four hours of contact (as well as private study). The first two-hour 'unit will be a lecture (based on set readings) that will introduce the topic, show its applications and suggests its strengths and weaknesses for practical research. The second two-hour 'unit' will be a practical class where you will perform appropriate tasks in the method such as collecting data, analysing existing data, developing a model or designing research.

Learning

Nine two-hour seminars and practical classes. Both include formative assessments such as exercises and oral presentations.
