Module code: SY1001

Module co-ordinator: Jerry Coulton

Please note that from 2016 this module will be combined with The Sociological Imagination to form a double module called 'Sociological Theory in Practice'.

This module begins with a brief introduction to the nature of the discipline. The lectures will introduce you to sociology by demonstrating its capacity to enable us to understand and explain the world we live in, our sense of who we are, and our responses to change.
