Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of this module, typical students should be able to demonstrate knowledge of key issues in contemporary US politics; demonstrate understanding of some of the major theoretical interpretations of US politics; construct arguments about how US politics has developed over time; assess critically causal arguments in written form; synthesize material from different sources. In addition, students will have the opportunity to enhance their capacity to present critical analysis through verbal communication and their capacity for independent study.

30 hours of seminars, 120 hours of directed reading and independent learning.
