This module will introduce you to the study of television, examining television programmes, television genres, production contexts and television audiences to expand your academic understanding of the medium of television from different critical perspectives. You will be encouraged to reflect on your own television watching practices as a way of further analysing the pervasive nature of this cultural form.

Forms of 'Reality TV'
LearningLectures, seminar participation, directed class screenings of television episodes and critical reflection on their own viewing habits.
Each week we will discuss a different approach to television analysis with reference to assigned reading and that week’s screened television episode.
