Module Outline

People and Places enables students to examine in depth a specific individual or location in history. Current topics available for selection include:

  • Daniel Finch, 2nd Earl of Nottingham
  • Patrick Abercrombie's Vision for London
  • Rulership and Rebellion in the Carolingian World
  • Menocchio: A Sixteenth-Century Italian Miller
  • Pioneers of British Computing: Bletchley Park

Teaching and Learning Methods

  • 20 hours of seminars
  • 2 hours of practicals/workshops
  • 178 hours of guided independent study

Assessment Methods

  • Primary source critique, 2,000 words (50%)
  • Essay, 2,000 words (50%)
