Climate Change: Impacts, Vulnerability and Adaptation

Module code: GY3432

"Climate change is destroying our path to sustainability. Ours is a world of looming challenges and increasingly limited resources” (Ban Ki-moon). Responding to these challenges, this module explores the wide-ranging impacts of human-induced climate change on the atmosphere, biosphere, human populations and economies. The focus is on the likely range of impacts; the degree to which geophysical, biological and socio-economic systems are vulnerable to and able to cope with adverse impacts; and the practical and policy actions that can be taken to manage climate change risks, protect ecosystems and communities, and strengthen the resilience of economies.
