Contemporary Environmental Challenges

Module code: GY3411

This module focuses on the analysis of a range of key contemporary environmental challenges. You will seek to critically understand some of the major environmental challenges facing the world today, and the (potential) societal responses to these challenges. In particular, you will consider the multi-scalar governance challenges posed by the transition to a more sustainable society and the diverse aspects and practices of transition. You will also reflect upon contested approaches to land, property and commons, as well as the role of diverse or indigenous knowledges in addressing environmental challenges.
