Dissertation

Module code: GL3101
Module co-ordinator: Dr Sarah Lee

For your dissertation, you’ll choose a (preferably controversial) topic within geology and write an account of our present understanding and its uncertainties. You will assemble information from a variety of sources (primarily literature and the internet) and then summarise and synthesise the information in a formatted report, making informed decisions about the quality of information obtained.

This project will provide you with an in-depth understanding of your topic and the necessary skills for more extended scientific work, such as your fourth-year independent research project or a report for the company that you work with when you leave university.
