Writing the English Revolution: Literature and Politics in Milton and Marvell

This module focuses on the writings of John Milton (1608-74) and Andrew Marvell (1621-78). You will develop your knowledge of seventeenth-century literary conventions and genres and of the print and manuscript culture of the period. You'll also become broadly familiar with the historical, political, and religious contours of the English Revolution and how these relate to literature.
