Issues in Science Education

This practical and relevant module will provide you with the opportunity to broaden and deepen your knowledge, skills, and understanding of issues in science education. We will explore models and theories relevant to the learning and teaching of science and discuss a range of issues of current interest and concern in science education, including assessment, the use of technology, pedagogic approaches, socio-cultural issues, and misconceptions.


The taught element of the module is flexible and will be determined jointly by the module co-ordinator and the participants. It will include a mix of seminars, workshops, and tutorials.
