The key to successful outcomes is the warm, non-judgemental exploration of the meanings that clients attach to their experience. In this module we will discuss the appropriate use of long and short term work. You will reflect on your own distinctive social position with regard to class, race, sexuality, disability, ethnicity etc and through this become aware of how your identity may impact on clients.

  • 15 one-hour practical classes and workshops
  • 1 one-hour tutorial


  • Essay, 1,000 words (40%)
  • Recorded session with a client, transcript and process analysis, 2,000 words (60%)
