Developing the Therapeutic Relationship

In this module (which builds on material studied in Assessment and Treatment) we will identify the principles and techniques of counselling which can be used with substance-misusing clients. You will learn how to analyse situations with clients from an ethical perspective and apply ethical codes and frameworks to guide interventions. You will compare and contrast different therapeutic modalities as applied to potential clients and also identify relevant sources of textual material, analysing them critically and drawing relevant conclusions.
