Actuarial Communications Project

The aim of the 15 credit Actuarial Communications Practice campus-based module is to ensure students can identify appropriate forms of written communication; select appropriate language for a non-specialised audience; and identify the key issues that need to be addressed and convey these in a piece of communication which:

• uses an effective structure
• adopts suitable language
• includes adequate explanations
• incorporates appropriate communication tools effectively
• justifies the approach used when communicating

Workshops will give students the opportunity to develop communication skills through peer-review of documentation. An important emphasis will be on tailoring communications to the expected audience and purpose.
