Italian Language (Post-Beginners)

Module code: IT2005 (double module)

Language study will be based on an integrated communicative approach and will be placed in a context that relates to contemporary life, society and culture in Italy. There are three contact hours per week dedicated to developing all of the main language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking).

A wide range of teaching and learning methods, materials and resources are used throughout the course to support different learning styles. Preparation and independent study tasks set by the tutor will form an essential part of the learning process. Small-group teaching and the use of virtual learning environments will optimise your progress and bring you up to B1/B2 level of the common European Framework for languages (CEFR).

Learning skills/topics

The skills and topics covered serve to develop your abilities in accordance with the requirements of the CEFR, and in the areas of Listening, Reading, Spoken Interaction, Spoken Production, and Writing. See full description of the skills required for progression to level B1/B2, including grammar and communication topics.
