Understanding Screenplays

This is an introductory module covering the requirements of working as a writer in the film business with an emphasis on scriptwriting. Narrative structure, pacing and plot will be examined in more detail in relation to scriptwriting, and you will also explore the practical film-making requirements that are considered when writing a script. You will gain an appreciation for the technical aspects of screenwriting, and you will apply these creative and technical skills in order to adapt and write a short screenplay.
