Theory and Techniques in Chronic Disease and Immunity

This module deals with the fundamental molecular and cellular mechanisms and techniques of advanced cell biology, and explores a wide range of theories and mechanisms that provide the basis of research on inflammation and chronic disease.  The practical laboratory sessions will cover basic techniques in molecular and cell biology and give insights into protein detection and cell culture. During these sessions you will gain a greater understanding of key experimental methods and demonstrate practical and theoretical competence in the use of standard and specialised equipment, and knowledge of safety procedures and safety assessment.
