Data analysis is a key tool to make informed decisions in modern corporations. In this module you will learn the main statistical techniques that you will need to extract meaningful information from a variety of data sources. In particular, you will understand the role that quantitative methods play in finance, accounting and management subject areas.
You will critically evaluate a range of established techniques and use and interpret basic graphical and numerical summaries of data, confidence intervals and testing for means and proportions. You will learn how to examine the association between two variables through the use of variance, covariance and correlation analysis, and understand and apply significance tests and regression analysis.
By the end of the module you will demonstrate proficiency in the use of a statistical package, including basic graphical and numerical summaries of data to a professional standard.
