This module introduces you to authors and genres from the lively period that began with the Restoration of Charles II in 1660, and featured scurrilous satire, the arrival of best-selling novels, and the rise of professional women writers.  Among the texts you'll encounter are the scandalous poems of the Earl of Rochester and Daniel Defoe's novel of intrigue Roxana (1724).
