Module code: MA3077
This module will focus on equipping you with the analysis skills to formulate, and classify linear and nonlinear optimisation problems. With regards to linear optimisation(programming), this module demonstrates how to apply the theory of the simplex method, and how to use the method for solving problems with linear cost functions and constraints in the form of a convex polyhedron. In addition, this module will outline how to apply techniques and methods for solving one-dimensional and multi-dimensional constrained and unconstrained nonlinear optimisation problems, and highlight the basic notions and concepts from the theory of games.
