Business and organisational leaders make important decisions every day. These decisions can have a massive impact on people, other businesses, cities or even countries, but what is the thought process behind these decisions? Why do leaders make the decisions they do?

This module will introduce you to the academic study of management; an area of study that is becoming increasingly important in the upper echelons of big business.

At the end of this module, you'll be able to describe the international emergence of management education in universities. You'll be able to critically assess the roles of rhetoric, philosophical reflexivity and scientific values underpinning management knowledge. You'll be capable of explaining and evaluating the development and relevance of management research. In addition, you'll be able to work effectively in teams to design and deliver presentations.
