Module code: EN2090

This module focuses on contemporary English in the UK, particularly colloquial language use and perception. We will collectively create a survey about language items of interest (e.g. the use or understanding of recent slang or regional words). Through an examination of the responses to the survey and readings/discussions on previous relevant findings about language and social characteristics of its speakers, we explore language in society today
