Big Data and Predictive Analytics

Module code: CO3093

“Data is the new oil” has become a refrain since a 2017 article from the Economist. This module is aimed at teaching tools and methods to interrogate data in order to carry out predictive analytics and to evaluate the resulting models. Predictive analytics is about relying upon historical data in order to predict who will buy, win, or get sick in the future. You will rely upon Python libraries to solve problems using data modelling and analysis tools. We cover basic statistics and we will adopt a black-box approach for the more complex Maths behind the algorithms used in predictive analytics.
