In this module you will evaluate change management theory and strategies within organisations which are of particular relevance within maternity services. You will construct and present a business case to lead and manage a change in health care practice, whilst critically reflecting on personal leadership and management skills and identify areas for future development in managing resources.

You will develop your understanding of change management theory, including the strategies and tools required to lead a change at local, national and international level. Utilising your Leadership Portfolio, you will reflect on your learning experiences during the course as part of a small leadership learning set and during elective/internship opportunities facilitated by national leaders of the midwifery/nursing professions.

You will also evaluate the strategic approach to the future healthcare agenda within the UK and internationally of the NHS Leadership Academy’s Nine Dimensions of Leadership.
