University of Leicester graduate Jeffrey Boakye discusses his books Hold Tight: Black Masculinity, Millennials and the Meaning of Grime (2017) and Black, Listed: Black British Culture Explored (2019) with the University of Leicester’s Dr Emma Parker.
Jeffrey Boakye is a writer and teacher originally from Brixton in south London, now living in Yorkshire with his wife and two sons. He has taught English in secondary schools and sixth form colleges since 2007. His books include Hold Tight: Black Masculinity, Millennials, and the Meaning of Grime (2017), Black, Listed: Black British Culture Explored (2019), Musical Truth: A Musical History of Modern Black Britain in 27 Songs (2021) and I Heard What You Said (2022).
