There is no smoke without fire - the first trial of Ada Simmer JP

Time: 11.30am-12.30pm; 1.30pm-2.30pm; 3.30pm-4.30pm
Venue: Leicester Town Hall Court House

A dramatization of the first trial that was presided over by a female Justice on 31st December 1919 (7 days after the Sex Discrimination (Removal) Act was passed). Ada dealt with 3 chimney fires (a serious offence in those days) on that day. There are three performances of the trail, each session will last for about an hour and the audience will be asked to consider whether the defendant is guilty or not.
