July 2020

We have taken the difficult decision to postpone our summer 2020 graduation ceremonies.

We would like to reassure you that you will have the opportunity to attend a future graduation ceremony. We are in the process of scheduling additional ceremonies for January and July 2021 which will only be for the class of July 2020, so that we can all celebrate the achievements of the class of 2020 in its own right.

Confirming your personal details

As the summer ceremonies have been postponed, we need all students who would have been graduating this summer to:

  • Confirm the details that will be on your degree certificate, and make sure we have the right address to mail it to
  • Let us know your preference for the January and July 2021 graduation ceremonies
  • Tell us how you would like to receive communications from the University after you leave and join our Alumni Association
  • Tell us about your future plans and interests so that our Career Development Service can continue to provide you with support.

If you were graduating this July you will have received an email inviting you to complete the information requested.  Please ensure you have completed this information by Sunday 31 May 2020. If you did not receive this email and you were expecting to do so, please contact the Graduation team.

Students who have indicated that they would like to attend a Ceremony in either January 2021 or July 2021 will be contacted again closer to the relevant time inviting them to complete graduation registration as normal.

Award conferrals

Normally we confer degrees at the Graduation Ceremony. As our summer 2020 graduation ceremonies are not taking place there will be an extraordinary meeting of Senate to confer degrees in July, ensuring that our class of 2020 receive their award at the time they would have done.

Fee deadlines

Please note, if you have any tuition fee debts these will need to be paid by Monday 6 July 2020 in order for you to receive your certificate and transcript (if applicable).
