Dr Yeela Lahv-Raz is a Sociologist, researching sex work regulations and politics, mainly in Israel. She finished her PhD in Sociology and Anthropology from Ben-Gurion University, Israel. For the last decade, she researched different aspects of the Israeli sex industry: the involvement of youth and young adults in prostitution; sex industry clients; Technological developments and their ramifications on sex work; And the online discussions in social media regarding the Israeli sex industry.

After receiving the  ISF (Israeli Science Foundation) post-doctoral scholarship, she is currently conducting two-year research focusing on sex work, sex consumption and sex tourism in the Middle East, under the guidance of Prof. Teela Sanders.

Dr Lahav-Raz has published in internationally esteemed journals including Journal of Feminist Media Studies and Journal of Culture Economy.
