The University of Leicester International Study Centre (ISC) offers specialist preparation for direct progression (for students from outside the UK) to a wide range of undergraduate degrees at the University of Leicester. The Foundation Year, delivered at the ISC, has been tailor-made for international students who have completed high school but do not yet meet all the academic or English language entrance requirements for a degree. It combines academic modules with study skills and English language training.
The University of Leicester ISC is run by Study Group, a world leader in education and training for international students. There are four pathway programmes available:
- International Foundation Year in Economics and Management
- International Foundation Year in Engineering and Technology
- International Foundation Year in Science
- International Foundation Year in Society and Culture
You can begin the Foundation Year in either September or January for degree entry the following autumn. You can take one or two terms of English Language Preparation prior to your Foundation Year if you need extra English language support.
Eighty nationalities are represented on the University of Leicester campus and each year, more than 1,500 students from outside the UK study the full range of subjects and degrees courses available. Leicester is one of the UK’s most ethnically diverse cities located at the very heart of England.
The International Foundation Year is designed to fully prepare you for degree study at the University. It will improve your English, academic and study skills and give you the confidence to succeed in your degree.
Joining the International Foundation Year guarantees that you will receive a conditional offer of a degree place at the University. Once you have successfully completed the course and have met the required entry standards, you will proceed directly to your preferred degree.
