Checklist

Congratulations!

If your application is successful you should follow the next steps.

Starter pack

The Study Abroad team will email you the starter pack. If you have not received it please email the team.

Visas

Be sure to research visa regulations. You are also welcome to contact our team of visa advisers in the Student Welfare office to ask for advice on which visa you should request.

If you require a Tier 4 visa, please request your CAS number using the MyStudentRecord portal.

Accommodation

Accommodation is guaranteed to all students that apply before the deadline as noted in your starter sack and acceptance email.

It is important that you pay the booking deposit and confirm the contract offer to secure a room. Make sure you read the accommodation contract carefully and email the accommodation office if any amendments are necessary.

Modules

Shortly after receiving your acceptance you will be asked to complete the module application form. The full list of modules is available on our modules page.

You will be able to view your full timetable after completing the on-campus registration. As part of the orientation programme, you will have the opportunity to meet with departments to confirm your module registration, and to adjust class lists if there are any clashes.

We recommend that you choose a few alternatives in case you are not accepted on your first choices.

Payment

If you choose to live in University of Leicester halls you will be required to pay a booking fee before you can accept your room offer.

If you wish to have essential items delivered to your room before you arrive, you may purchase bedding and/or kitchen packs from Shop@le.

We recommend that you purchase appropriate travel and health insurance in your home country before coming to the UK. You should obtain all visas and book accommodation before your arranging flights.

Plan your arrival

You are encouraged to take advantage of our free Airport Bus Service.

The Study Abroad team will be at Heathrow Terminal 3 Arrivals meeting point to welcome and accompany you to University of Leicester halls. Although this is a free service, we ask all students to book a place.
