The Creative Computing Research Group (CCRG) aims to investigate the creative origination and use of digital technologies in multidisciplinary research. There are four overlapping themes:

Computational Creativity

This is a technically-focused theme that researches both the theory and practice of Artificial Intelligence and Creativity in a range of fields.

Digital Arts and Design

This is a practice-based theme that examines digital technologies in the creative industries, including: music, film and video, visual arts, TV and radio, advertising, literature, computer games and performing arts.

Emerging Technologies

This is a future-facing theme that explores new and emerging technologies in areas such as business, design, heritage and education.

Health and Inclusion

This is a user-centred theme that investigates the contribution that creative computing can make to medicine, disability, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Researchers in the CCRG work across these themes in many cases. The vision is to share insights in a spirit of cooperation and collaboration, showing respect for disciplinary specialisms while fostering an environment which dissolves disciplinary boundaries.

The CCRG has a strong programme of public engagement and business links with the Attenborough Arts Centre, LCB Depot, the Innovation Hub, the Space Park, and more.
