A series of discussions taking place across the week with our very own Leicester students, who have started businesses, sharing their experiences, challenges and goals, and what the future looks like for future entrepreneurs. We'll be having three discussions this week, covering:

Professor Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent OBE, Chief Midwifery Officer for the NHS in England, and Professor of Midwifery at Kings College London and London South Bank University joins student midwife Maeva Kamtcheu and Professor of Midwifery Jayne Marshall in conversation, to reflect on her career and experiences in clinical practice, education, leadership and management.

Do retired sporting black lives matter?

  • Open to all

Join a panel of experts on race, sport and popular culture will discuss how race shapes the experiences of ‘black’ athletes throughout their careers and beyond.

The event is inspired by Education, Retirement and Career Transitions for 'Black' Ex-Professional Footballers: 'From being idolised to stacking shelves' by University of Leicester lecturer Dr Paul Ian Campbell, published earlier this year.

As part of the event, attendees will have a chance to put questions to Paul and the rest of the panel: Dr Natalie Darko (Academic Lead and Research Fellow at the Centre of Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Health, University of Leicester), Prof Ben Carrington (University of Southern California) and Ms Anika Lesley-Walker (University of Bolton).
