Professor Lisanne Gibson
Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research
Professor Lisanne Gibson commenced in the role of Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research in 2019. The primary purpose of this new role is to provide dedicated senior academic leadership for the University’s REF2021 submission. Professor Gibson works closely with the PVC (Research and Enterprise) and other members of the Executive Board, College Deans of Research and Professional Services colleagues (Research and Enterprise Division, Human Resources and External Relations) to provide day-to-day academic leadership for all aspects of our REF submission. In particular Professor Gibson is tasked with ensuring a REF2021 return which reflects the excellence and significance of the University of Leicester’s research.
Professor Gibson brings a number of years of senior research management experience to this role including as Dean of Research for the College of Social Science, Arts and Humanities.
Professor Gibson is also Professor of Culture and Society in the University’s School of Museum Studies where she has been a member of academic staff since 2005.
