The Changing Character of War

The character of war has significantly changed in recent times. Concepts such as cyber warfare, private military contractors and 'remote control warfare' are far removed from the trenches and cavalry of the First World War.

This module will introduce you to the significant general trends in contemporary conflict, their development and their implications. You'll also evaluate the general significance of 'remote control warfare', along with specific aspects, such as the rise in the use of Private Military Contractors.
