Political Analysis 1: Understanding Political Science Research

Module code: PL2094

As you begin to look towards your final year studies, thoughts may turn to your dissertation - a sizeable piece of research into an area of your choice. The thought of a 10,000-word essay may seem daunting and, of course, it will be a test of your political analysis skills. Therefore, we've devised this module to help you with the fundamentals behind conducting substantial pieces of research.

Through lectures, tutorials and interactive workshops, you'll learn the major approaches to the study of political science and international relations, dissect published analysis and develop an understanding of the basic elements of research design.

This will help you as you begin to flesh out a research topic later this year, and also when you delve into your dissertation during your final year.
