Film, Reception and Consumption

In this module, you will investigate the process of film production and consumption within wider contexts of contemporary global film industries and markets.  The module is designed to deepen your understanding of film as a form of creative arts as well as a cultural product. You will have an opportunity to discuss various stages and roles of creative labour involved in film production, distribution and exhibition. The learning activities of the module also include exploring film consumption from the viewer’s perspective. The films shown and discussed in the module include commercial blockbusters and independent productions from around the world.
