1921 Gin

Get to taste the science with 1921 Gin

The University of Leicester is world renowned for its ground-breaking research and scientific expertise. We invented DNA fingerprinting, discovered King Richard III and have had an instrument operating in space every year, for nearly 60 years.

Now we apply our expertise to gin - partnering with the award-winning 45 West Distillers to launch the distinctive 1921 brand - borne out of ingredients in our Botanic Gardens and named in honour of our unique founding in 1921 as a living memorial to those who made sacrifices in World War One.

Throwing in a combination of ingredients from the University's Botanic Gardens, including pepper punch and warming spice, balancing elements of chamomile and thyme, adding elderberry and orange to create the perfect tipple for you to enjoy - taste the science with 1921 Gin!

From strawberry and mint, to ginger and lemon, find out what would make the perfect accompaniment for 1921 Gin.

Remember to drink carefully. Don’t topple after your tipple!
