The SU is the social hub of the university, providing space to meet, eat and relax, with more than 200 clubs and societies plus the UK's only on-campus O2 Academy.

Career support

Right from your first year, our Career Development Service will help you, so that when you eventually don that cap and gown you're ready for what comes next.

Library

The David Wilson Library is open 24/7 in the run-up to exams. The dedicated staff will help you make the most of the enormous range of resources.

Accommodation support

The Accommodation Team is available 24/7 and our friendly student Residential Advisors are always on hand with help, advice and support.

Graduation

Your place at graduation, with two guests, is guaranteed – and we’ll make sure you’re ready for the big day so you can celebrate with friends and family.

Health and welfare support

The Student Welfare Service offers specialist advice on issues including health, childcare, benefits, finance and personal problems.

One-to-one academic support

Your Personal Tutor will stay with you from the start of your course right through to graduation, helping you with any problems or queries, academic or personal. 

Personal safety

SafeZone is a free app which lets you alert University Security if you ever need urgent assistance or first aid, or if you have an emergency while on campus.

Spiritual and emotional support

Whatever your faith – or even if you have none – our Chaplaincy is a place to meet new friends, to relax, pray and discuss things that matter to you.

Work opportunities

Our in-house recruitment agency Unitemps can help you find part-time work during term or full-time, temporary work during the summer vacation.

Academic skills help

The Centre for Academic Achievement’ provides one-to-one help, advice and online resources in areas such as maths, academic writing, study skills and preparing for exams.
