BUCS are excited to announce the second in the series of our Mental Health in Student Sport webinars, in partnership with Student Minds. With four amazing panelists including a sports psychiatrist and the chair of the University of Nottingham Sport's 'Welfare in Sport' committee, they will be sharing their own experiences of mental health at university as well as discussing: 

  • The rise in conversation in men's mental health
  • How to spot signs of potential mental health challenges in athletes 
  • Keeping your team's morale high during the lockdown

University Mental Health Week: Walking Challenge 
It's not about the amount you do, it is simply getting out for some exercise. Head out and about in your local area and take a selfie or picture of something interesting you see along the way. You can then submit your photo along with a small donation to support Student Minds, the UK's student mental health charity, via the fundraising page. If you want to get more out of the challenge sign up on Playwaze and receive 30 reward points for taking part!

Dr John McDonald will lead you through two short guided meditations; a body and breath practice followed by a compassion practice which uses a visualisation technique. There will be time after the practice for a short discussion and reflection.

This relaxing mindful writing workshop led by Helen Foster, a creative writing tutor for adult learning and wellbeing practitioner, will help you explore your creativity through mindfulness and writing.
