How and where we will work

Building and working arrangements for Semester One 2020/21, including building closures and departmental admin locations.

Astley Clarke

  • Astley Clarke is now be home to the CSSAH College Office, as well as Media, Communications and Sociology. It includes a School hub/reception and bookable office space.
  • Colleagues from HR, Finance and Estates and Digital Services continue to work from home where possible or use bookable touchdown space in FJB.

Attenborough Tower

  • Attenborough Tower will remain closed and will be unavailable for all staff and students.
  • The Schools of HyPIR and Arts School hub/receptions will be in Ken Edwards on the 3rd Floor, along with bookable office space.

College House

  • College House will be closed for the whole academic year 2020/21.
  • Maths/Engineering/Informatics Schools hub will be based in Ken Edwards on the 5th Floor.
  • The School of Informatics and the School of Mathematics academic staff will be able to use bookable office space in Ken Edwards.

Fielding Johnson Building

  • The Fielding Johnson Building (FJB) will be open. The Schools of Law, Criminology, Education and Museum Studies will all be based in FJB.
  • The Law and Criminology School hub/receptions will be on the Ground Floor.
  • Education and Museum Studies School hub/receptions will be on the 1st floor with bookable office space.
  • Colleagues from Research and Enterprise (RED) will no longer be based in FJB and will continue to work from home where possible or use the Innovation Hub for bookable touchdown space.
  • Colleagues from SAS will no longer be based in FJB and will continue to work from home where possible or use bookable touchdown space within FJB.
  • FJB will also become a touchdown space for Professional Services staff.
  • A co-ordinated process will be developed to enable RED and SAS staff to vacate their offices.

Informatics

  • The Informatics Building will remain closed. The School reception will be based in the Ken Edwards Building and there will also be bookable space.

Telephone Exchange

  • The Telephone Exchange will be closed.
  • The post room will be temporarily relocated to Nixon Court. Staff working in the upstairs offices will be required to either work from home or in the Professional Services touchdown space in FJB.

106 New Walk

  • 106 New Walk will be closed. We will seek to find locations on central campus for services to continue.

103-105 Princess Road East

  • This building will remain closed. Doctoral College staff will continue to work from home when possible and can use the touchdown space in FJB when required.

54 Princess Road East

  • This building will remain closed. Museum Studies staff will be able to use bookable office space in FJB.

Enkalon House

  • External Relations Division is to leave Enkalon House permanently when its lease expires in January 2021.
  • In the meantime, External Relations staff will continue to work from home, or can use the touchdown space in FJB when required.
  • A plan for specific team requirements will be made including a home for the editing and specialist print equipment which will be provided shortly.
  • A co-ordinated process will be developed to enable ERD staff to vacate their offices.

Prospect House

  • This building will remain closed.
  • ITS staff will be required to work from home where possible, or in the touchdown space provided in FJB.
  • CITE has been relocated to Stamford Court for Semester One.

Readson House

  • This building will remain closed. CITE has been relocated to Stamford Court for Semester One.

3-5 Salisbury Road

  • This building will remain closed. The School of HyPIR hub/reception will be in Ken Edwards, along with bookable office space.

6 Salisbury Road

  • This building will remain closed. The School of HyPIR hub/reception will be in Ken Edwards, along with bookable office space.

15 University Road

  • This building will remain closed. Museum Studies staff will be able to use bookable office space in FJB.

19 University Road

  • This building will remain closed. Museum Studies staff will be able to use bookable office space in FJB.
  • The Museum Studies School reception will be on the 1st floor of FJB.

21 University Road

  • This building will remain closed. Education staff will be able to use bookable office space in FJB. The Education School reception will be on the 1st floor of FJB.

152-154 Upper New Walk

  • This building will remain closed. Alternative accommodation will be provided for Criminology in FJB, including a School hub and touchdown space for staff.
